Mr. James E. Root, Principal Attorney, has dedicated his entire legal career to fighting for and protecting the rights of U.S. immigrants and their U.S. employers. He is proactive in advocating reforms to the U.S. immigration laws and policies, especially those effecting professional workers and immediate family members. Mr. Root and his experienced staff successfully handle all employment based and family based immigration petitions.
Mr. James E. Root is a graduate of the Whittier Law School; currently the only ABA accredited Law School in Orange County, CA. Among his distinguished memberships are: the American Bar Association, the California Bar Association, the Los Angeles Bar Association, and the International Law Society. Mr. Root is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the first and largest immigration attorney association in the United States.
Mr. Root was honored with the Wiley W. Manuel Award for the pro bono legal services and assistance he provided to the indigent and elderly clients at the Bet Tzedek Legal Services, a nonprofit organization. He regularly attends and participates in the U.S. immigration law meetings and conferences hosted by the senior officials from following government agencies:
- U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (previously known as the INS);
- U.S. Department Of State;
- U.S. Department of Labor; and,
- California Employment Development Department (as well as other state employment agencies).
Mr. Root has published articles on immigration matters in a number of publications and newspapers including La Opinion, Pakistan Link, India Journal, Kurier, American/Hungarian Journal, 7 Days, Anons, and India Currents. His articles have been published in several foreign languages including Spanish, Russian, and Hungarian.
