Los Angeles To Consider Enforcing Secure Communities |

June 6, 2011- Los Angeles will consider supporting Secure Communities, a federal program which analyzes the fingerprints of arrestees recorded at local jails.
The fingerprints are compared to federal criminal and immigration databases to determine whether deportation proceedings are necessary.
The City Council will discuss on Tuesday whether to support a state bill, which would allow local jurisdictions to decide if they want to continue with the program.
