June 13, 2011 – ICE announced special relief for Libyan F-1 students who have suffered severe economic hardship due to the current armed conflict in Libya.
Since February 2011, Libyan F-1 students have received less financial support from Libya and their family members as a result of the civil unrest.
As a form of relief, ICE will allow eligible F-1 students to apply for work authorization, work more hours during the school term and reduce their course load.
This relief only applies to students who were lawfully present in the United States on February 2011 and enrolled in an institution that is certified by ICE’s Student Exchange Program. Read More
