May 26, 2011 –USCIS updated the count of H-1B petitions received and counted towards the H-1B cap on their website. As of May 26, 2011, approximately 13,100 H-1B regular cap petitions and 9,000 H-1B master’s exemption have been received by USCIS. USCIS will continue to accept both regular cap petitions and master’s exemption until a sufficient number of H-1B petitions have been received to reach the statutory limits.

May 26, 2011 - The legislature introduced an immigration bill, called the Military Family Act, which would allow military members on active duty to adjust their immediate family members’ status to that of a legal permanent resident. The bill would also assist children of Filipino World War II veterans by exempting them from the numerical limitation on immigrant visas.
