A new system for scheduling biometrics appointments has been launched USCIS Service Center Operations. Under the new system, biometrics appointments will be scheduled by USCIS. No longer will an applicant have to schedule a biometrics appointment by calling the NCSC. However, separate biometrics appointments are being scheduled for each application for which biometric data must be gathered, such as separate biometrics appointments for an I-485 and an I-765 filed concurrently. The reason for this is that data cannot migrate between the databases for the two applications, and that records are kept by the receipt number. AILA has asked USCIS to devise a system to allow the capture of biometrics for all related applications in a single visit. USCIS is looking into a solution.
